What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at Hwy 155 near Gilmer, TX on November 6th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11 a.m. According to investigators a tractor-trailer headed northbound along with a Chevrolet Impala. Officials say the Impala was slowing to turn left onto Bluebell Rd, yielding to an oncoming before it was rear ended by the 18-wheeler. The collision is said to have pushed the Chevrolet into the path of an oncoming Honda Civic, those vehicles colliding. Officials say the driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 20-year-old Elijah Auld, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Kinzy Jones, also suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the Honda, identified as 37-year-old Kailey R. Wildt, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Officials say the truck operator was uninjured and had no additional information to share.
