What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed an Elmendorf man in FM 140 in Atascosa County, TX on September 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Titan operated by a 23-year-old Elmenorf man who was not publicly identified was westbound, navigating a curve in the roadway. Officials believe the vehicle lost control at the curve, veering off an eastbound lane into a south shoulder. While attempting to correct back onto the roadway, officers allege the vehicle lost control and went into a skid, overturning through a fence line. From there, they say the vehicle went airborne and struck a cement power line, ejecting the man from the vehicle. Officials say the man suffered fatal injuries at the scene and did not have additional information available to disclose.
