What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured several people at State Hwy 158 in Midland, TX on August 11th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:55 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 20-year-old Victor Vazquez was eastbound on Florida Ave at the time. Traveling southbound on Jefferson St was a Ford Edge. Police allege the Ford failed to yield before it collided with the Chevrolet. Following the collision, police allege the driver of the Ford fled the scene on-foot. Officials say three occupants of the Chevrolet had minor injuries while a fourth occupant was more seriously injured. They add Vazquez was not injured and sources indicate charges for Accident Involving Injury, DWLI and Disobey a Stop Sign were recommended and/or issued against the operator of the Ford.
