What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 287 in Ennis, TX on February 3rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:02 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 38-year-old Richard Eveland was allegedly traveling in the wrong direction headed southbound on northbound Hwy 287. The truck collided with a northbound tractor-trailer operated by  48-year-old Francisca Rhoads. Eveland suffered fatal injuries in the collision while Rhoads was seriously injured, according to authorities. Additional information was not immediately available.
