What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-45 in Hutchins, TX on August 23rd, 2022. Officials say it happened around 2:10 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by 56-year-old Jesus Leonel Galindo was headed northbound on I-45 when it came to a stop in a right hand lane of travel for unknown reasons. An approaching Nissan Frontier operated by 68-year-old Franklin Walter Powell is said to have collided with the rear of the truck, causing fatal injuries at the scene. Galindo is said to have been uninjured. Additional information was not available.
