What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed three people at Hwy 16 in Jim Hogg County, TX on November 8th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5 a.m. According to investigators, a GMC pickup truck is said to have collided head-on with an ambulance traveling in the opposite direction. Authorities did not provide a possible cause for the crash. It was stated the driver of the pickup truck, 27-year-old Jaime Barrera Jr, as well as the driver of the ambulance, 66-year-old Andres Botello, were killed. A passenger in the ambulance, identified as 23-year-old Jose Guadalupe Cepeda, was also killed. Authorities did not have any additional information was not immediately available.
