What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Alpine Rd and Ann Dr in Longview, TX on September 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:35 p.m. According to investigators, a fire truck headed westbound on Alpine Road allegedly failed to yield right of way while turning onto East Ann Drive. The vehicle turned into to the path of a motorcycle operated by 60-year-old James Ray Neuville, who reportedly laid the motorcycle to the ground in an effort to avoid a collision. The impact of the action left Neuville wile injuries that he was taken to an area hospital for treatment of and later died from. Additional details were not available.
