What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person at Greenwich St in Houston, TX on April 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:05 p.m. According to investigators, a Jeep Wrangler headed northbound is alleged to have had to brake upon coming upon a child in the roadway. The vehicle veered to the right of the road, traveling into a ditch before hitting a culvert and overturning. A front seat passenger, identified as Jorge Mendiola, was killed. The child involved was hospitalized with minor injuries  after being struck by debris from the crash. The driver, who was not identified, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
