What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 81 in New Fairview, TX on September 10th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram truck operated by 37-year-old Jose Epifanio Valdez Lopez was allegedly northbound in a southbound lane, approaching a barricade in a construction zone. Police say the vehicle chanted lanes, traveling into the path of a tractor-trailer, which severed in order to avoid a head-on collision. Part of the front of the truck struck the Dodge before it went backwards and overturned. The result of the collision left both drivers with suspected serious injuries, according to police.
