What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 277 in Schleicher County, TX on September 3rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:20 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet C1500 operated by 28-year-old Jose Huichapa was northbound, approaching a curve in the roadway. The vehicle is alleged to have continued straight at the curve, veering from the road into a barrow ditch. The vehicle is said to have traveled over a concrete culvert and traveling airborne and hitting a delineator pole. Upon landing, the vehicle overturned, leaving Huichapa with injuries believed to be serious in nature. Additional information was not available.
