What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at FM 78 in Universal City, TX on January 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:51 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Corolla operated by a 65-year-old Universal City woman was headed westbound as a second westbound vehicle, a Chevrolet 3500HD was allegedly experiencing mechanical issues. The truck was in the process of moving over into the shoulder when it was struck in the rear by the Toyota. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 53-year-old Juan Ignacio Zaragoza, suffered injuries believed to be serious in nature. The University City woman was not injured, according to police.
