What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured at least two people at I-635 in Mesquite, TX on October 24th, 2023. Police are saying the incident happened around 11:31 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado was entering onto the highway on an on ramp before colliding with a Chevrolet Colorado also attempting to enter the highway. Investigators say the Colorado had been in the process of slowing down as a tractor-trailer ahead began slowing. Police allege the Silverado failed to control its speed and struck the rear of the Colorado, the impact pushing the vehicle into the tractor-trailer. Reports say the Silverado operated had minor injuries while the driver of the Colorado, identified as 20-year-old Kanyon Greer, was more seriously injured and hospitalized for treatment. Reports also indicate the driver of the Colorado was arrested on an Intoxication Assault charge. Additional information was not available.
