What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at FM 2767 in Smith County, TX on September 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Chrysler Aspen operated by 25-year-old Kayla Renea Craig was northbound on FM 757, approaching a stop sign at the intersection with FM 2767. At the same time, police say a commercial truck was headed westbound on FM 2767 approaching the intersection with FM 757. Police allege the Chrysler may have run the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection, colliding with the commercial truck. Police say the crash left Craig with serious injuries while the two occupants of the commercial truck had injuries believed to be non-life-threatening in nature.
