What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that killed two people at FM 45 near Brownwood, TX on March 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:36 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram headed northbound on FM 45 is alleged to have veered from the road across a center divider. Once it did so, it traveled into a southbound shoulder. As this occurred, a Chevrolet Silverado headed southbound attempted to avoid colliding with the Dodge by traveling into the shoulder, where both vehicles ended up colliding head-on. Killed in the crash was Dodge driver 53-year-old Kelly Pierre Caldwell and 64-year-0ld Silverado driver Michael Joe Wiser. Seriously injured was Silverado passenger, 38-year-old Jessie Carlos Banuelos.
