What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at Eagle Lake Rd in Paw Paw Twp, MI on September 21st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. According to investigators, a pickup headed northbound on Eagle Lake Rd is said to have sideswiped a semi-truck before crossing a center line and colliding head-on with a box truck. The crash left the driver of the box truck with life-threatening injuries, which he was hospitalized for treatment of. Identified as 50-year-old Kevin Tackett, he later died from his injuries. The pickup truck driver's condition was not stated, however, officers expressed belief the injuries were non-life-threatening. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
