What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-30 in Dallas, TX on December 17th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:38 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by an unnamed 59-year-old Greenville, TX woman was headed eastbound before stopping. The truck is said to have been attempting to avoid striking a disabled vehicle from an unrelated accident that was blocking a travel lane. As the truck was attempting to change lanes, an approaching Mercury Grand Marquis truck the truck while attempting to pass. The resulting collision left the driver, 39-year-old Kinji Lavon Valentine, with fatal injuries. The Greenville woman and a passenger were uninjured. Additional information was not available.
