What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at SH-71 in Fayette County, TX on February 18th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:26 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle operated by 32-year-old Kyle Payne was headed westbound on SH-71 before drifting into a center median. The vehicle went into a roll as a result, separating Payne from the vehicle and leaving him with injuries police described as being serious. Payne was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
