What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 180 in Weatherford, TX on August 28th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:59 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-250 operated by a 25-year-old Lipan man was headed eastbound on Hwy 180 before allegedly running a red light and colliding with a Nissan Kicks operated by 70-year-old Mary Jo Smith. Smith suffered minor injuries while two passengers, 41-year-old Justin Smith and 35-year-old Lacy Smith, both suffered serious injuries. The Lipan man was not injured and officers recommended and/or issued a charge of Intoxication Assault.
