What Happened

Police from the area investigating a crash that killed two people at Fred Hartman Bridge in La Porte, TX on January 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened shortly before midnight. Investigators believe a GMC pickup truck operated by 90-year-old Major Abram was headed southbound in a northbound lane before colliding with a Toyota Corolla. It was not known why the vehicle was traveling in an incorrect direction. They confirmed that both Abram and the Toyota driver, 27-year-old Lamont Rhodes, died at the scene.
