What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at US 79 in Leon County, TX on November 27th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:06 a.m. Investigates say a Ford Transit van was carrying five occupants northbound while turning left onto US 79. Reports allege the van failed to yield at the intersection with FM 39, colliding with a tractor-trailer while turning. Several people were ejected from the vehicle in the crash, reports say. Two of the occupants, identified as 24-year-old Lane Wireman and 25-year-old Seth Brown, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The driver and two additional passengers were hospitalized with injuries believed to be serious in nature, reports say. Additional information was not available.
