What Happened

Plano Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at US Hwy 75 near Legacy Dr in Plano, TX on March 13th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. According to investigators, a vehicle was disabled in a travel lane at the time of the crash. The driver, 29-year-old Leah Daniels, exited the vehicle and was standing near it as its hazard lights actively flashed. Police say at some point, Daniels was struck by a semi-truck, the impact sending her into oncoming traffic. Following this, she was struck by another vehicle, suffering fatal injuries. The truck involved in the crash did not stop to render aid or remain at the scene, according to police. Officials are currently working to identify the driver.
