What Happened

Investigators have details on a two-vehicle crash that injured a woman at FM 1485 in Montgomery County, TX on December 19th, 2022. Officers believe it happened around 1:45 p.m. According to investigators, a Chrysler PT Cruiser and Dodge 5500 towing a trailer were the vehicles involved. Police allege the PT Cruiser was headed southbound on FM 1485 prior to vehicles ahead coming to a stop. The vehicle veered onto the opposite side of the road in order to avoid a collision before it was struck by the Dodge. The collision left the Chrysler driver, 21-year-old Madison Kaye Schmidt, with injuries said to be serious. The other driver, a 34-year-old Shepherd, TX man, was not injured. Authorities did not have additional information to share.
