The vehicle is alleged to have been traveling at an unsafe speed before crossing a standing puddle of water and losing control. The vehicle is said to have struck a pedestrian near a private residence and a mailbox before coming to rest. The pedestrian, identified as 71-year-Milton Tompkins, was seriously injured. The driver, age 19 and not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured and charged with Intoxicated Assault.
