What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at State Hwy 349 in Martin County, TX on November 9th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:05 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was northbound on Hwy 349 before striking debris in the roadway. The debris was left in the roadway following a previous collision involved a Toyota pickup truck and flatbed truck. The tractor-trailer is said to have suffered a tire blowout after striking the debris, causing the vehicle to veer into southbound lanes and collide with a Chevrolet Tahoe for Gaines County Sheriff's Office. The 19-year-old jailer operating the Tahoe was seriously injured, according to police. Additional information was not available.
