What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at Business Hwy 83 in San Juan, TX on July 3rd, 2023.  Officials are saying the incident happened around 9:07 p.m. According to investigators, a Lexus ES 250 was eastbound on West Business Hwy 83. At the same time, a 52-year-old San Juan man who was not publicly identified was traveling on-foot. Reports indicate the man was crossing the roadway from north to south prior to being struck by the approaching Lexus. It was alleged by authorities the man may have failed to yield right-of-way prior to the collision, which left him with fatal injuries. The Lexus operator was not injured, according to reports. Additional information was not available.
