What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-10 in Jefferson County, TX on August 6th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:32 a.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Kicks operated by a 25-year-old driver was eastbound. Ahead of the vehicle was a Toyota Matrix that was reportedly disabled in a lane of travel. Officials say two passengers in the Toyota were attempting to push the vehicle from the road as the Nissan approached. Authorities allege the Nissan struck the back of the Toyota, which also struck one of the pedestrians. That pedestrian, a 25-year-old Harvey, LA man, suffered fatal injuries. The second passenger as well as an occupant of the Toyota had possible injuries. Additional information was not available.
