What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at Port Ave and Nimitz St in Corpus Christi, TX on August 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:23 a.m. According to investigators, a Kia Sportage was southbound on Port Ave before allegedly failing to control its speed and colliding with a pedal cyclist. Following the collision, the Kia allegedly fled the scene without stopping to render aid. The cyclist, a 47-year-old Corpus Christi man, suffered fatal injuries.
