What Happened

Police from the area have information on a crash that killed a driver at Sam Houston Pkwy in Houston, TX on December 11th, 2022. Officials are saying the incident happened around 4:56 a.m. According to investigators, a commercial truck operated by an unnamed 37-year-old Minneapolis, MN man was headed northbound ahead of Dodge Charge in an adjacent lane. At some point, the Dodge lost control, possibly due to weather conditions, and struck a retaining wall. The impact sent the Dodge back onto lanes of travel where it struck the commercial truck. The impact left the driver, identified as 48-year-old Marcus Demond Smith, with fatal injuries. The Minneapolis man and his passenger were uninjured. Additional information was not available.
