What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a person at Parkdale Dr in Tyler, TX on August 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:16 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by 34-year-old Maria Borja Romero was slowing for a vehicle ahead that was reported into the nearby creek. A second vehicle was stopped on the southbound side of the road while attempting to pull the other vehicle out. As a GM vehicle approached, it struck the Ford, leaving Romero with serious injuries. A 10-year-old passenger in her vehicle had minor injuries while two other passengers were evaluated for possible injuries. The other driver, a 22-year-old Tyler man, was not injured and cited for Failure to Control Speed.
