What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at Ben White Blvd in Austin, TX on December 18th, 2022. Officers say it happened around 2:44 p.m. According to their investigations, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 51-year-old Roberto Rangel was exiting a driveway at a Starbucks and failed to yield. In the process, the vehicle collided with a motorcycle operated by 23-year-old Mark Narvaez. Both Narvaez and a passenger, 22-year-old Kate Garcia, were killed in the crash. Rangel was not injured and officers recommended and/or issued charges for two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter.
