What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 1841 in Atlanta, TX on September 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:57 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram operated by Marty Rawson was traveling northbound on South Boggie St as it approached the intersection with East Main St. The vehicle is said to have traveled past the posted stop sign and continued straight through the intersection before crashing into an embankment. It also struck support cables, taking the vehicle airborne and causing it to flip and go into a rollover upon returning to the ground. The vehicle came to rest upside down after crashing through the bedroom of a nearby home, leaving Rawson with serious injuries. Rawson was hospitalized for treatment and evaluation of possible intoxication.
