What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at FM 306 in Comal County, TX on June 28th, 2023. Police believe the incident happened around 9:23 p.m. According to investigators, a Land Rover Discovery, operated by a 34-year-old Austin woman who was not publicly identified, was eastbound at the time. Police allege the vehicle turned left in an effort to enter a private driveway, not yielding to approaching traffic as it did so. They add the vehicle was struck by an approaching Honda Civic, operated by 31-year-old Mary Furey King, the impact sending the Land Rover into a nearby Chevrolet Traverse parked in private drive. The collision left Furey with injuries suspected of being non-life-threatening and a 38-year-old passenger, who was not publicly identified, with injuries believed to be more serious in nature. The Austin woman was not injured, according to police, and a Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued.
