What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-45 in Huntsville, TX on March 1st, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:16 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 was outbound on I-45 in a right lane before allegedly veering from the road into a shoulder. There, reports say the vehicle collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer parked in the shoulder. The collision is said to have caused the Ford to catch fire, the driver of the Ford, identified as 34-year-old Matthew Blattel, suffering fatal injuries.
