What Happened

Two students were killed in a collision involving an 18-wheeler at US Hwy 59 near Corrigan, TX on January 20th, 2023. Officials named 18-year-old Micah McAfoose and 19-year-old Graylan Spring as the victims. According to investigators, the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. They believe a Nissan Versa operated by McAffose was going southbound prior to colliding the an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler is said to have been turning northbound from Plant Road. Police state that McAfoose died at the scene while Spring died shortly after arrival at an area hospital. The 18-wheeler operator, 68-year-old Antonio Sandoval Jr was alleged to have failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Additional details were not available.
