What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian at Hwy 6 in Navasota, TX on May 14th, 2023. Police say it happened sometime before 4:25 a.m. According to investigators, a pedestrian was allegedly walking in or near a lane of travel prior to being struck by vehicle. A commercial dump truck is said to have lost control while attempting to avoid striking the victim in the roadway, overturning into a nearby ditch in the process. The pedestrian, identified as 37-year-old Michael Robertson, died at the scene. The driver of the truck was treated for injuries believed to be minor in nature.
