What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Liberty Expressway in El Paso, TX on July 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:33 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Corolla operated by a 31-year-old driver was allegedly headed westbound in the eastbound lanes of the Expressway. The vehicle is said to have collided with a motorcycle operated by 35-year-old Mitchell Cross. Following this collision, the Toyota is alleged to have continued westbound before crashing into a center barrier and coming to a stop. Police say Mitchell suffered severe leg injuries as well as other suspected serious injuries and was hospitalized for treatment. The Toyota operator was allegedly uninjured and authorities say she was detained on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
