What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a driver at US 277 in Jones County, TX on August 19th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:59 p.m. A Kia Forte operated by 61-year-old Monty Ray Booe was headed southbound on US 277 in an outside lane as it approached a construction crew. A commercial truck with flashing yellow lights was parked in an outside lane and was unoccupied. The Kia veered out of its lane and the attempted to correct back onto the road, eventually colliding with the parked construction vehicle. Booe suffered serious injuries and was cited for Failure to Drive in Single Lane.
