What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at Hwy 94 in Lufkin, TX on October 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6 a.m. Investigators believe e westbound box truck veered into an eastbound lane to avoid striking another vehicle ahead turning left. As it did, it collided head-on with an eastbound Nissan, operated by 64-year-old Morris Childers. Childers was killed in the collision. His 11-year-old passenger was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. as was the box truck operator, identified as 25-year-old Jterrius Henderson. Additional details were not available.
