What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Eagle Dr in Mont Belvieu, TX on May 17th, 2023. Police say the incident happened as a flatbed tractor-railer was headed northbound on Eagle Dr. They say the truck was in the process of performing a u-turn, blocking both lanes of travel as a southbound Dodge Nitro approached. The Dodge struck the truck, killing a 13-year-old girl and her 40-year-old mother who was driving the Dodge. A 2-year-old child in the same vehicle was taken to an area hospital for evaluation with the driver of the ruck was not injured. Additional information has not been made available.
