What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Main St in Grand Prairie, TX on July 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:26 p.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Veracruz, operated by a 19-year-old Grand Prairie man, was eastbound after exiting a McDonald's. It has been alleged by officials the driver was intoxicated at the time and failed to stop for a red light. Authorities say the vehicle proceeded into the intersection with 9th St, colliding with a Nissan Sentra said to have had a green light at the time. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 43-year-old Nancy Ramirez Castillo, is believed to have been seriously injured. A 43-year-old passenger, who was not publicly identified, had less serious injuries, according to officials. Police say the Grand Prairie man was not injured and sources indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was recommended and/or issued.
