What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed three people at FM 812 in Bastrop County, TX on April 23rd, 2023. Police say it happened around 1 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 23-year-old Manuel Campos was headed eastbound prior to allegedly crossing into a westbound lane. The truck collided head-on with a westbound Toyota Tundra operated by 41-year-old Ofelia Ramirez. The Silverado then struck a guardrail and overturned before catching fire. Both drivers suffered fatal injuries, as did an infant in the Toyota. A second child passenger, age 11, as well as 37-year-old Agustin Quintero, had injuries believed to be serious in nature.
