What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured at least one person at I-20 in Kaufman County, TX on October 7th, 2023. Police are saying it happened around 2:25 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 was eastbound on I-20 before allegedly veering from its lane into a bar ditch. Police say a tractor-trailer was parked in the bar ditch at the time, which was struck by the Ford as it entered the ditch. Reports indicate debris from the crash entered the roadway and into the path of an approaching Chevrolet Equinox. The Equinox suffered a tire blowout the caused it to veer from the road as the other two vehicles caught fire. Reports say the truck operator and Equinox driver were uninjured while the Ford operator sustained serious injuries. Additional information was not available.
