What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed one person involved at I-10 in Chambers County, TX on September 9th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:20 p.m. According to investigators, a construction front end loader was headed eastbound followed by a second vehicle traveling with active hazard lighting. Officials say the truck was traveling at a slow rate of speed as a it crossed a bridge. A semi-truck headed in the same direction is said to have struck the rear of the second vehicle, pushing it into the front ender loader. The driver of the passenger vehicle, who was not publicly identified, suffered fatal injuries. Authorities did not have additional information.
