What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 285 in Reeves County, TX on January 20th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:25 a.m. Investigators say a Ford F-150 operated by 28-year-old Reyes Rodriguez was headed northbound while towing a utility trailer. The vehicle is alleged to have attempted to pass another vehicle in a non-passing area before as the northbound lanes merged. The vehicle is further alleged to have traveled across double yellow lines and colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado before overturning. The crash left Rodriguez with fatal injuries. Two passengers in the Chevrolet suffered minor injuries. Additional information was not available.
