What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at  State 71 in McCulloch County, TX on August 8th, 2022. Police are saying it happened around 2:39 p.m. According to authorities, a tractor-trailer operated by 74-year-old Richard Erwin Tuttle was headed westbound on Hwy 71 approaching the intersection with FM 2309 at a curve in the road. The vehicle is said to have veered from the road over a curb before becoming jack knifed and sliding across the road. The truck overturned and went down an embankment and hi a light pole, trapping Tuttle in the vehicle. Tuttle suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Additional details were not available.
