What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 67 in Ballinger, TX on September 28th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge pickup truck operated by 73-year-old Richard Wayne Bruce was headed westbound on US 67 when it allegedly crossed a center line and collided head-on with a second Dodge pickup truck headed eastbound. The crash left Bruce with fatal injuries. His wife and passenger, 62-year-old Mary Trojacek Bruce, was hospitalized in critical condition. The driver of the second Dodge, identified as 59-year-old Ben Baxter Ingham, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not available.
