What Happened

A disabled vehicle was involved in a crash that killed a driver at I-35 in Dallas, TX on December 22nd, 2022. Authorities state that it happened around 10:37 p.m. Investigators say a Cadillac CTS operated by 55-year-old Robert Irving Epps was reportedly disabled in a center travel lane for unknown reasons at the time. A tractor-trailer operated by a 27-year-old Dallas man was headed southbound in the center lane, approaching the disabled vehicles. Officers allege the truck made no attempt to stop before colliding with the rear of the Cadillac, pushing both vehicles into a barrier wall. The impact caused the Cadillac to overturn, ejecting Epps from the vehicle and leaving him with fatal injuries. The Dallas man and his passenger were uninjured and police had no additional information to disclose.
