What Happened

Authorities are searching for a driver in connection with a crash that killed a postman at Houston, TX on September 30th, 2023. Police say it happened just before 3 p.m. as Robert Jones, an employee for USPS, was operating a USPS delivery vehicle. Official statements and surveillance footage at the scene indicate the delivery vehicle was struck by an SUV that was attempting to travel around another vehicle. Following the collision, the SUV can be seen briefly stopping nearby before leaving the scene. The USPS delivery vehicle overturned into a nearby ditch in the collision, trapping Jones under the vehicle. Officials say Jones suffered fatal injuries in the incident.
