What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials named the victims in a crash at US 84 in Lubbock, TX on August 1st, 2023. Officials say 65-year-old Robin Williams Lawrence and 66-year-old Lisa Whisenant Merxbauer were killed when their vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer at an intersection. It was alleged by officials that one of the vehicles may have failed to yield to the other. The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as 56-year-old Nelson DeJesus,  was hospitalized for evaluation and later discharged. Additional information was not available.
