What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 385 and Walnut Rd in Hereford, TX on November 3rd, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 7 a.m. According to investigators, an SUV collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Malibu stopping to make a left turn. The impact pushed the Malibu into oncoming traffic where it collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. This forced the tractor-trailer into a ditch, where it struck several fixed objects. The driver, identified as 52-year-old Rosendo Rodriguez, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. 36-year-old Lina Vallejo and 34-year-old Lazardo Vallejo were seriously injured. A 6-year-old child had less serious injuries. All three individuals were hospitalized for treatment. The SUV operator was not injured. Additional information was not available.
